Get Best image quality while uploading Facebook Album photos
Uploaded images are automatically reduced and compressed by Facebook so as to restrict the data volume. There are three image sizes in this case, with widths of 720, 960 and 2048 pixels.
If you bring your photos to this width before uploading, then you lower the risk of scaling errors and improving the display quality. The file format is also of great significance.
Facebook converts uploaded photos into compressed JPEG format. This means that if you upload an already compressed JPEG, then it will be compressed for the
second time, thus causing the image quality to visibly suffer. Therefore, it is better to use the loss-free file formats PNG or TIF while uploading.

If you wish to post images in optimal quality on Facebook, then you have to activate the option “High resolution” while creating an album. You will see this function, either on the left, in the options bar or below the images.
The use of higher resolutions results in longer upload times but will ensure a better display quality.
