If you were offered a Ferrari for 10 bucks, you would buy it without a thought. That’s is what happened when Android came into the picture. With its birth, everything turned upside down. With the freedom of Symbian and the futuristic approach of iOS, Android was the god in disguise. A new interface, new technology, new approach and certainly the best app store existing. Android, apart from being awesome, is one of the most affordable mobile operating system. Most of the applications on the store are free unlike apple, and futuristic just like apple. Seems like you get the desert in just the half price. While it is already being used by three people in a group of five, lets get to know how it got there.

HISTORY

Android Inc. was founded in Palo Alto, California, in October 2003 by Andy Rubin(Founder of the essential phone), Rich Miner, Nick Sears, and Chris White. The basis of pitching investors for android was by laying down the idea for digital camera operating software. Not much success was seen by this, but soon Google acquired it for at least $50 million. Its founder and main employees Rubin, Miner and White were part of Google too.  Android was secretive at the time, with the company providing few details other than that it was making software for mobile phones. This mobile platform was going to be physical keyboard compatible until Nokia and Blackberry launched full touch phone in rivalry to the iconic Iphone 3Gs. All the focus was now on full touch interface.Although the first phone had sliding keyboard with full touch panel, it was HTC Dream, also known as T-Mobile G1.

Soon, companies like Samsung, Motorola, HTC were using Android too. In 2010, Google too used it in making its first smartphone, Nexus. And this was how it flourished.

HOW AND WHY ANDROID FLOURISHED

Android has been the best-selling OS worldwide on smartphones since 2011 and on tablets since 2013. As of May 2017, it has over two billion monthly active users, the largest installed base of any operating system, and as of June 2018, the Google Play store features over 3.3 million apps.Ease of use, affordability, variety of features, are just pinch of features that make it most loves operating system of the century. Due to the descriptive icons and catching tutorials, android is easy for any age group. A simple kid of 5 can play games and an elderly human of 80 can make a call. While the youth makes the most out of it. Developers can also root devices running on Android and enjoy the full control.

2.AFFORDABILITY – 

Have you ever seen a street hawker using an iPhone? Maybe not. But you must have seen one using an android. The main reason why it is accessible to billions is its cheapness in spite of greatness. Everyone from a street vendor to a tech Youtuber uses android.

Most of the companies use it nowadays. Furthermore, OS used on keypad phones are outdated and iOS is only on Apple devices. Everyone prefers android which can be bought for cheap by low-level companies or costly by fortune five hundred.

4.VARIETY OF APPLICATIONS – 

Highest attraction is variety of applications. You can get thousands of games, utility software, security, database, health and fitness, camera and all you can think of just on a single smartphone. Your phone can work as car key, remote control, laptop, tablet, health coach, camera, beauty application and the list won’t end. What amazes people more is most of them are free applications, unlike Apple’s app store. If not free, there are other ways to access them for free.

5.INTERFACE AND SECURITY

Have you ever used Stock android? If not, use right away. It’ll make you fall in love over and over again. The interface is one of the undeniably great features you get. The beauty, the ease, the fastness, and smoothness are just impeccable. And security is top notch until you are not ultra careless with your device.
