Windows 10 comes with .NET framework 4.5 pre-installed, Windows applications developed in .NET Framework 3.5 requires relevant .NET Framework installed to run properly. Starting from Windows 8, .NET 4.0 is already a part of the OS and do not require manual installation except the updates.
To enable or install .NET Framework 3.5 on Windows 10 you need to install it from “Turn Windows features on or off utility”. And this will ask you to install it by downloading – which requires an internet connection.
However, this will take a lot of time. You can save your time and install .NET Framework 3.5 from the Windows 10 installation media.
Here is the Step required to Install Net Framework 3.5 on Windows 10:-
Step1:- Insert your Windows 10 DVD, or double click its ISO image, or insert your bootable flash drive with Windows 10, depending on what you have.
Step2:- Right-click on the Start menu and select “Command Prompt (admin) ” and enter the below command
Dism /online /enable-feature /featurename:NetFX3 /All /Source:I:\sources\sxs /LimitAccess
Note:- Change your Source driver letter with your installed driver letter like in my case Windows 10 ISO image is inserted in I Drive.
