Mozilla Firefox comes with a feature of Synchronize your bookmarks, history, tabs, passwords, add-ons, and preferences across all your devices with the help of Firefox account, but the problem is if your if your password is compromised you don’t have extra protection, but now firefox comes with a feature of two-factor authentication on firefox account, You required Google Authenticator or Authy to setup this.
Step-by-Step Process to Set Up Two-Factor Authentication For Firefox Account
Step1:- Launch Firefox and click on the hamburger menu in the top right corner and select ” Options“.
Step2:- Click and click on the ” Firefox Accounts” if you are not signed in, first sign-in with your account.
Step3:- After logging in, click on the ” Manage Account” option.
Step4:- Click on the Enable option under ” Two Factor Authentication” section.
Step5:- Now you need to scan this barcode with your Authenticator app ( Firefox account support authenticator apps) and need to enter a Security code to verify your two-factor authentication.
Step6:- In my case, I am using Google Authenticator app ( Download Android or Ios ), Open authenticator app on your mobile and tap on the Plus icon on top gear and click on the ” Scan Barcode“.
Step6:- Now it will show you your 6 digit authentication code which you need to enter and click on the confirm to confirm your code.
Step7:- Now it will prompt you to Save your Recovery code. That’s it.
Now in case of login on other devices, it will prompt you for a two-factor code.
and if you are using Firefox on your Ios device, you have the option to use ” Face ID or Passcode ” which you will find in Setting option.

Stopping a hacking attempt is not easy but with adding an additional layer of security we are making their work more difficult, it’s always recommended to use an additional layer of security on every account which is providing two-factor authentication solutions.
