How To Start Microsoft Office apps in Safe Mode
If you find that Microsoft Office applications such as Word, Excel and PowerPoint are crashing when you open them or try to load a document, try starting them in Safe mode.
This disables any extras that may be installed, such as add-ins and extensions. Press Windows+R to open the Run box,
Type one of the following and press the Enter key:-
winword /safe :- Command for Word
excel /safe :- Command for Excel
powerpnt /safe :- Command for Powerpoint
outlook /safe :- Command for Outlook
mspub /safe :- Command for Publisher
If the Office application now starts normally, it means that there may be a bad add-in or
extension. Go to the File menu and select Options, then Add-ins.
This lists all the add-ins you have installed.
It doesn’t tell you which one is faulty, though, so try uninstalling the most recently added one and run the software again.
